2012 Icon Award Winner and Nominees

Alberta Health Services, Alberta, Canada

Alberta Health Services supports the 3.7 million citizens of the province, manages more than 500 ambulances, and handles 400 thousand Emergency Medical Service events a year. Alberta relies on Intergraph's Mobile for Public Safety, I/Incident Analyst, and Business Intelligence for Public Safety to accelerate smarter decisions. Mobile for Public Safety has reduced the work load of Alberta's staff by using status messaging from its mobile data terminals instead of relying on radio conversations to mark statuses and acceptance of events. Intergraph's I/Incident Analyst helps Alberta Health's staff find smarter ways to place ambulances around the province. The Business Intelligence for Public Safety takes all the information generated through CAD and allows Alberta to create intelligent reports.

Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA), Melbourne, Australia

ESTA uses Intergraph's computer-aided dispatch (CAD) in its five emergency response organizations serving 5.5 million people in Victoria, Australia, including fire, police, ambulance, and state emergency services. Intergraph's industry-leading incident management tools allow ESTA to make smarter, quicker decisions that speed its response times and decision-making processes.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma, USA

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and regulation of the state's transportation infrastructure. This infrastructure includes rail lines, highways, water ports, and airports. The department's mission is to provide a safe, economical, and effective transportation network for the citizens, commerce, and communities of Oklahoma. Using Intergraph technology, Oklahoma DOT developed an automated oversize/overweight permitting and routing solution. This new technology streamlines its permitting workflow while providing a robust application to evaluate alternate routes using existing enterprise GIS and asset data for constraints on the network. Oklahoma's Oversize/Overweight system went into production November 1, 2011. By the second week of January 2012, the system had processed and issued more than 47,000 oversize/overweight permits. Permits that once took 1-3 days to approve are now approved in an average of eight minutes.

Royal Saudi Air Force, Saudi Arabia

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) is the aviation branch of the Saudi Arabian armed forces and maintains the third largest fleet of F-15s. Using Intergraph technology, RSAF built a state-of-the-art Intelligence Analysis System. This system is a geospatially powered enterprise production and analysis solution. It transforms vast amounts of complex data into actionable intelligence, empowering RSAF to make smarter, faster decisions.
