Program Awards $3.8 Million in Grants
The Intergraph Process, Power & Marine Educational Grant Program closed 2004 with 13 grants totaling more than $3.8 million (U. S.) in commercial value awarded to educational institutions worldwide. Intergraph awarded the most recent grants with a total commercial value of more than $1.7 million ( U. S.) to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Canada; FUNCEFET, Portugal; University of Western Australia; and Vidyavardhini College of Engineering, India.
Grants Bring Advanced Technology to Classroom
The Intergraph Process, Power & Marine Educational Grant Program helps build student proficiency and experience in using engineering software. For educational institutions, the program brings advanced technology software to the classroom, expands course offerings at minimal cost and enables instructors to upgrade skills through free commercial training. The program also provides industry with qualified job candidates trained to use the popular Intergraph engineering software. Educational institutions worldwide with engineering and technical curricula associated with the process manufacturing, power generation and offshore petroleum industries are eligible to apply for grants, which have a one year, renewable term. Grant recipients under the standard program are eligible to receive SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Electrical and SmartSketch® software and maintenance; instructor training; technical installation assistance; and one complimentary registration for the Intergraph Process, Power & Marine APEX industry conference series. A program option includes PDS, SmartPlant 3D and SmartPlant Review, depending on institution curriculum and expertise.
Intergraph Software Used in Design, Operations
The Intergraph software is widely used in design, construction, operations and maintenance in a variety of industries including onshore and offshore oil and gas, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, power generation, chemicals, metals and mining, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage and others. The most advanced plant design environment available, SmartPlant 3D offers concurrent engineering, real-time clash detection and integration with SmartPlant as well as other software and systems. SmartPlant Instrumentation supports controls system engineering, while SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Electrical support piping and instrumentation and electrical engineering, respectively. PDS is for integrated 3D and 2D plant design and SmartPlant Review is for 3D visualization. SmartSketch provides multi-discipline, precision drafting, drawing and diagramming.
