Technip USA Selects Intergraph IntelliShip

Advanced Marine Design Software to Improve Project Execution and Timely Delivery

NEW ORLEANS, August 22, 2005 – Intergraph Corporation today announced that Technip, a world leader in offshore engineering, design and construction, is implementing IntelliShip® marine design software at its Technip USA Corporation engineering center, Houston, Tex. Technip USA’s use of IntelliShip is intended to help integrate the work processes of the firm’s engineering and fabrication groups and reduce project duration. Technip USA is also implementing IntelliShip with the goal of increasing overall modeling productivity and reducing labor and time expended on drawing production as well as improving fabrication planning.

“Technip is one of the few fully integrated engineering companies in the world that can provide virtually all services, including engineering design, construction, procurement and maintenance of floating production units required for offshore oil and gas production,” said Gerhard Sallinger, president, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine. “IntelliShip is expected to speed time to first oil for Technip clients and reduce cost while increasing engineering quality and constructability.”

John Wishart, senior vice president of engineering & services, Technip USA, said, “The overall product direction and the potential of IntelliShip to improve productivity in an extremely demanding offshore industry are just two of the reasons why Technip is implementing the Intergraph software. Intergraph has worked closely with our engineers to address some of Technip’s unique modeling requirements for floating production units.”

Intergraph made the announcement today at its APEX New Orleans conference where IntelliShip is prominently featured in presentations and demonstrations. In addition, Technip USA experts are featured in significant APEX sessions attended by more than 400 people from the process, power and marine industries. Wishart is speaking this afternoon in a 1:00 p. m. Business Track executive session on “The Value Proposition for Design, Engineering and Construction;” Clive Engel, PDS analyst, is featured in “Conceptual Design: Getting the Bid Advantage” on Tues. at 1:30 p. m. in the Engineering track; and Charles Hartrick, principal structural designer, is leading the Structural Technical User Forum in his role as chairman on Wed. at 11:15 a. m. Intergraph APEX New Orleans concludes here August 24.

Intergraph IntelliShip (ppm.intergraph.com/marine) 3D modeling and engineering software streamlines shipbuilding and marine work processes, appreciably lowering manpower and material costs and significantly reducing overall design and construction outlays and schedules. IntelliShip heralds the obsolescence of existing CAD-constrained, heavily customized ship design and engineering software.
