Intergraph Announces IntelliShip Implementation at Brazil’s PROJEMAR

Displaces AVEVA Tribon and Accelerates Intergraph Expansion in South American Shipbuilding and Offshore Markets

NEW ORLEANS, August 22, 2005 – Intergraph Corporation announced today that PROJEMAR of Brazil is implementing the advanced IntelliShip® marine design software. PROJEMAR is South America’s leading engineering service firm and maritime technical consultancy for the shipbuilding and offshore industries. IntelliShip will constitute the principal software for design execution for the company’s continental and international projects. Projects include floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs), floating production units (FPUs), container ships, tankers, bulk carriers and others. The implementation of IntelliShip is directed at meeting PROJEMAR’s business needs, including rapid project execution from preliminary design to construction and beyond, increased design efficiency, lifecycle risk reduction and competitive advantage.

The sale was made through Sisgraph Ltd., São Paulo, a major Intergraph distributor with a 20-year history in South America. Sisgraph provides local support for PROJEMAR’s use of PDS® and SmartPlant® software for its current naval architecture and offshore design projects.

PROJEMAR President & Chief Executive Officer Tomazo Garzia Neto said “PROJEMAR has made a strategic decision to implement Intergraph IntelliShip and the SmartPlant Enterprise suite of integrated applications as our principal project execution system. IntelliShip will significantly improve the way engineering, design, construction, handover and refits are performed for our clients. Intergraph’s local support infrastructure, its clear commitment to our success and its truly advanced technology are the reasons why IntelliShip will substitute the systems presently used at PROJEMAR. Intergraph is the only company that addresses the total solution to our complex problems and we are confident Intergraph technology and its people will provide us opportunity to achieve a new level of increased productivity. IntelliShip is part of our overall plan to implement SmartPlant Enterprise throughout PROJEMAR. We are optimistic that our partners in shipyards in Brazil and around the world will be adopting this approach.”

Thomas J. Doran, vice president, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine, said, “IntelliShip technology is clearly offering PROJEMAR a better way to meet the requirements of its key clients, such as Petrobras and the major South American shipyards, for very challenging marine design projects and demanding schedules as well as post-construction marine asset management. Selection of IntelliShip by PROJEMAR represents Intergraph’s continuing expansion in the South American offshore and shipbuilding market. Because of visionary companies like PROJEMAR, Intergraph is optimistic about the continuing growth opportunities throughout Latin America.”

Intergraph IntelliShip (ppm.intergraph.com/marine) 3D modeling and engineering software streamlines shipbuilding and marine work processes, appreciably lowering manpower and material costs and significantly reducing overall design and construction outlays and schedules. IntelliShip heralds the obsolescence of existing CAD-constrained, heavily customized ship design and engineering software.

Intergraph made the announcement today at its APEX New Orleans conference, where IntelliShip is prominently featured in presentations and demonstrations. More than 400 people from the worldwide process, power and marine industries are participating in the conference which concludes here August 24.
