Integration between the two solutions will facilitate a more efficient handover process of information between engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors and plant owner/operators who use SmartPlant Foundation and OPIDIS to manage technical documents and data. Seamless handover eliminates manual data re-entry and errors associated with it, offering high-integrity engineering information to owner/operators for use in operations and maintenance.
"Both owner/operators and third-party technology providers such as Artesys see the productivity benefits that integration between SmartPlant Enterprise solutions and other applications provide," said Patrick Holcomb, senior vice president of business development for the Intergraph Process, Power & Marine division. "Through the SmartPlant Alliance program, Intergraph offers our customers an end-to-end solution for designing, building, operating and maintaining process and power plants, offshore rigs and ships.
"This alliance is of strategic importance to Intergraph and Artesys, and it offers both companies new opportunities in the markets we serve,” Holcomb added. “Our customers will benefit from this integration by enhancing owner/operators’ ability to quickly gather key information for operations and maintenance decision-making when it matters most."
Daniel Coquelin, chief executive officer of Artesys, said: "The SmartPlant Enterprise is an open platform, which allows Artesys to integrate our application into those provided by Intergraph and third parties. The SmartPlant Enterprise is the key to our interoperability strategy and a main driver for our business. Artesys is pleased to be a member of the SmartPlant Alliance program, and we believe through the integrated SmartPlant Foundation-OPIDIS solution and others in the future, we can better serve our customers."
