New Jersey Transit Corp. Selects Intergraph for Public Safety System Modernization

Intergraph's Emergency Incident Response, Planning and Reporting Solutions to Advance Response and Prevention Efforts for Nation's Third Largest Transit System

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., February 05, 2008 – To advance public safety and security efforts associated with nearly 251 million annual passenger trips, New Jersey Transit Corp. (NJ TRANSIT), the nation's third largest transit system, will deploy a suite of Intergraph's integrated emergency incident response, planning and reporting solutions. The new public safety system will provide police personnel, dispatchers and emergency responders with real-time intelligence to assist them in their incident prevention and response efforts.

The new system will replace a homegrown, legacy system and will deliver integrated dispatch, records and mobile field reporting capabilities. This enhanced functionality will enable NJ TRANSIT police to more effectively and efficiently respond to emergency incidents. Intergraph's emergency incident response, planning and reporting solutions also provide NJ TRANSIT police with the capability for interoperability and cross-agency information sharing, a key initiative for homeland security efforts, especially in the population dense northeastern region of the United States.

"Public safety and security personnel at some of the world's largest mass transit agencies rely on the incident command capabilities provided by Intergraph's public safety and security solutions to aid in emergency incident prevention and response efforts," said Reid French, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Intergraph Corp. "By deploying the Intergraph solution, NJ TRANSIT security personnel, dispatchers and emergency responders will be better prepared to mitigate and respond to a wide variety of threats and incidents in real time for their customers across the region."
