Intergraph® Expands Utility Mobile Workforce Management Solution with Dynamic Scheduling Engine

New scheduling tool to boost workforce productivity and customer service

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Sept. 10, 2012 — Intergraph® will expand its mobile workforce management solution through a partnership with IFS 360 Scheduling to enable utilities to more efficiently send the right personnel to the correct job on time, resulting in increased productivity, improved customer service and reduced costs. IFS 360 Scheduling is the world's leading provider of dynamic mobile workforce scheduling and optimization software.

According to Gartner, "mobile workforce technology can enable more efficient field service for workforce/asset management and customer service improvement. Many business cases expect one-year project payback and greater than 100 percent annualized return on investment."1

Intergraph will incorporate in its mobile workforce management solution IFS 360 Scheduling's Dynamic Scheduling Engine, which takes into account worker skills, service level agreements (SLAs), travel time, traffic delays, workers calling in sick, new work orders and many other conditions to produce the optimal schedule for any given time. As events happen through the day, the engine immediately recalculates and updates the schedule. The engine can be used for both short-term and long-term scheduling, and scheduling data can be analyzed over several weeks for future planning.

"In an environment of rising energy needs and intense competition, the efficient management of mobile assets and resources is critical to the success of any utility," said Hank Dipietro, Vice President Utilities & Communications with Intergraph . "With the advanced options from IFS 360 Scheduling, our customers will be even more empowered to optimize their operations and work more effectively."

About IFS 360 Scheduling
IFS 360 Scheduling has its roots in complex numerical analysis and has long been linked with Nottingham University. In the 1990s the company's founders developed a sophisticated mapping and scheduling solution for use by the Emergency Services. The system helped the Emergency services make efficient use of their resources and helped them to meet legal SLAs measured in minutes, allowing the Emergency services to wait in strategic locations rather than waiting at their stations.

The 360 system was founded in 2002 to take its world-leading scheduling expertise into a new software environment focusing on field service. The adoption of the most modern technology that embraces the Web revolution has meant that any company with a mobile workforce, whatever its size, can now benefit from the company's best in class scheduling solutions. Since that time IFS 360 Scheduling has been working with field service organisations to help them schedule effectively and optimise their resources to meet an ever-widening spectrum of SLAs.

Today the team continues to include top mathematicians, scheduling experts and field service specialists based at Chilwell on the outskirts of Nottingham.
