In the private sector, Lockheed chose Intergraph to define and document a standard logistics management process using lean principles, value-stream mapping and analysis, and continuous process improvement techniques so as to sustain the F-22 Raptor, no longer in production. This effort resulted in a shared Web-based application with expert information on F-22 provisioning, supply, repair, and distribution processes, with each activity electronically tagged with job instructions, procedures, templates, and forms. When operating on a client server at customer site, reduced research time and the number of misdirected shipments saved approximately $6.2 million in operational costs for the first year.
