An
Intergraph system at the Naval District Washington that integrates
computer-aided dispatch (CAD), geographic information systems (GIS), alarms,
security technologies, and radio systems demonstrated its mettle during the
September 11, 2001, attacks on the Pentagon. The system delivered
minute-by-minute information to support the emergency operations center in
moving facilities to THREATCON Delta, managing response, and assessing
casualties.
Currently, Intergraph is working to integrate additional data and systems to enhance the system. By improving interagency communication and decision-making, the system will help the Washington, D.C., community respond effectively to emergency events.
