Nevada Department of Transportation Adds Geospatial Analysis to Safety Management System using Intergraph Transportation Solutions

welcome to Nevada The Nevada Department of Transportation’s (NDOT) Safety Management System, based on Intergraph’s transportation solutions, has been placed into full operation. The system provides new geospatial analysis capabilities to NDOT’s Safety Engineering Section so it can geographically display information about roadway areas with high incidents of vehicle accidents and better probe underlying causes of accidents.Using the Intergraph-based geographic information system front end of the new system, anyone in the NDOT can access and analyze data. An additional advantage of the new system is its ability to graphically represent incidents within a single intersection, which might otherwise appear as two different locations because of road naming conventions.
