Intergraph Automates Existing Manual Dispatching Operation and Implements More Effective Incident Reporting and Airport Security Systems at Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (O’Hare) is one of the world’s busiest airports, with more than 72.6 million travelers per year – about 200,000 daily. The first of its kind in the nation, the O’Hare project involved the design and installation of an advanced physical airport security system for both interior and exterior facilities. A new communications and dispatch center was built to serve as the centralized nerve center of the new airport management system, and house computer and communications equipment.

Intergraph’s integrated Incident Management System monitors and controls various security elements of the airport management system at O’Hare. Operators rely on a comprehensive airport security software and database capabilities integrated with intelligent mapping to provide rapid response and clear communication during critical moments.

Using the Airport Incident Management System, O’Hare security personnel can manage a large number of deterrence and detection systems from a single integrated console. This monitoring of the security environment in an airport the size of O’Hare is a monumental task and represents the processing of more than two million security incidents per year.
