Job Description
Position Summary/Purpose

Your primary role is to system design, build, and integration of Intergraph’s applications to meet customer acceptance.  You will achieve this by translating the customers' needs/workflows to technical specification, these tasks will be undertaken utilising the Intergraph design and implementation methodologies.  Your secondary role is to provide Level 2 “as implemented” application support for utilities customers and software applications.

  • Provides documented and working solutions to assigned tasks according to the technical requirements and customer specifications.
  • Conducts design discussions with Implementation team leaders, Software Development Lead or client representatives regarding system functionality.
  • The Senior Software Engineer is to specify, design, implement, integrate, document, and test new software components required by the customer.
  • The Senior Software Engineer will also provide technical support and problem solving for existing customers across a wide range of industries.
  • Provide second level support to SG&I Support System Administrators and to customer personnel.
  • Participates in Sales and Marketing support.

Main Activities

  • Preparation of Functional Requirement Specification’s for software development tasks
  • Preparation of Detailed System Design documents for software development tasks
  • Preparation of acceptance test plans for software development tasks
  • Development of software components required to complete projects

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Utilities culture and environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Windows environment
  • Working knowledge of .net (C# or Visual Basic and ASP.net) 
  • Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server, Transact-SQL
  • Working knowledge of ASP, Visual Basic 6, VBScript.
  • Competent in web development techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of Graphical Information System’s, experience with Intergraph products is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of G/Technology is highly regarded
  • Understanding of relational database systems
  • Working knowledge of the Windows environment

Education

  • Tertiary level qualification in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Software Development
