South East Water is a state-owned company that provides water and sewerage services to 1.3 million people in the south-east region of Melbourne, Victoria. One of Melbourne's three metropolitan water businesses, water is sourced almost exclusively from protected mountain catchments and distributed from dams via a network of pipelines to service reservoirs and numerous major water tanks, strategically located across SEWL’s service area. Stakeholders include customers, the communities and environment in which SEWL operates, suppliers, partners, developers, local councils and the Victorian Government, which includes its departments and regulatory authorities.
South East Water Limited and Intergraph jointly implemented a new water-industry resource management solution that steps significantly beyond the limitations of previously existing technology. Paving the way for other utility and resource management organisations both nationally and internationally, South East Water Limited and Intergraph have successfully completed the implementation of a geospatial resource management solution - G/Technology. Specifically enhanced to meet the needs of the water industry, this specially-adapted variant has come to be known as G/Water.
