What will the course cover?

The introduction and beginning administration for SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and The Engineering Framework (TEF) course is the first in a series of Process, Plant and Marine classes that is designed to introduce an administrator to the concepts and functionality available in the SPF product. This course begins with an overview, concepts and architecture of SPF and TEF. A brief demonstration of TEF publish and retrieve functionality will be presented. The class will also include a tour of the Desktop Client as well as basic end user functionality such as creating new objects, submitting objects to a workflow, searching and navigation, and other object manipulations - sign off and revise. The class will also cover the basics of system administration including user access and accounts, configuring file storage (vaults), user/operating system synchronisation, and token license set-up and configuration. A detailed look at the ability to publish process data from an authoring tool such as SP P&ID will also be included. The class is presented as a combination of lecture sessions followed by hands-on activity periods.

What are the prerequisites for attending this course?

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows NT 2000, XP or Windows Server 2003
