UK Location has published a list of system and service providers that have released INSPIRE view service solutions. In order to produce the list of system and service providers, UK Location published a set of pre-qualifying questions. The published questions relate to the INSPIRE view service regulations and technical guidance. Intergraph’s answers to these questions are:
Intergraph’s GeoMedia® SDI Pro offers numerous services, including Web Mapping Service (WMS). This service allows a client to call OGC GetCapabilties operation, which is the equivalent of the INSPIRE Get View Service Metadata operation.
GeoMedia SDI Pro provides OGC WMS service functionality. This service generates a map directly from the database, serves WMS data from the underlying database, and GeoMedia SDI Pro extends basic functionality with additional features. It is compliant with OGC WMS Versions 1.1.1 and 1.3.0, and its operations are accessible through the HTTP/GET, HTTP/POST, and SOAP protocols. GeoMedia SDI Pro WMS has the following components:
GeoMedia SDI Pro WebMap Service (WMS) Façade - an independent Web service that connects to the grounding WMS. This service can modify the responses to add additional functionality to the grounding WMS service.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia SDI Pro offers numerous services, including Web Mapping Service (WMS). This service allows the user to pass the OGC Get Map operation.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia SDI Pro offers numerous OGC & INSPIRE compliant services, including Web Mapping Service (WMS) & Web Feature Service (WFS). These services allow the user to pass the INSPIRE Link View Service operation or the combined OGC GetCapabilties & GetRecords operations.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia SDI Pro WMS allows the coordinate reference system of the service to be set using the EPSG code. If the service is consumed by GeoMedia SDI Portal, for example, then the data layers are reprojected into the view coordinate system, with the layers being updated asynchronously. In addition, GeoMedia SDI Portal allows the client to determine the view coordinate system.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia SDI Pro WMS can deliver the image data in the Portable network Graphics (PNG) format. If the service is consumed by GeoMedia SDI Portal, for example, then the data can be requested in JPEG & SVG formats, either tiled or buffered for rapid display.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia SDI Pro offers a set of highly valuable Web services, creating services compliant to ISO & OGC standards and INSPIRE directives & implementation rules for SDI implementations. These services include user event logging, performance measurement, rights management and Web portal content logging. The SDI Pro extension package offers additional functionality, such as user authentication and monitoring capabilities, such as number of calls, requested layers, & average service response times.

INSPIRE is more than software, it is a significant project undertaking and also an opportunity to improve the accessibility and utility of your organisation's existing spatial data holdings. As well as a facilitating data sharing between GIS users, your SDI investment can enable simple, agile and sustainable integration of spatial information with other business systems and processes. Intergraph has acquired extensive domain expertise through our participation in many of the leading EU research projects and national and regional SDI implementations across Europe and around the world, including the United Nations SDI, Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure and the US National SDI.
