The 2009 conference explored how spatial information and technology can be applied to improve services and deliver operational efficiencies within organisations – topics that are even more relevant in today’s economic climate. The 2010 conferrence continued these themes, focusing on:
- Enabling collaboration between entities
- Technologies and organisational approaches to achieving this
- The benefits that can be gained
These themes were explored using examples from resilience, business continuity and civil protection in an agenda that appealed equally to delegates from utilities, communications, the emergency services, transportation and all levels of government.
Presentation topics included:
- Shared services across local government and the emergency services
- Contingency planning and targeted communication in utilities
- Preparing for London 2012
- Major events management at the 2009 Obama Presidential Inauguration.
In addition, technology, strategy and business updates informed delegates of developments and directions at Intergraph including: key note by Vice President and Head of Security, Government & Infrastructure (SG&I) for Intergraph in EMEA, Horst Harbauer; product showcases covering the new 3D environment and Motion Video Analyst, which renders live video streams from aerial platforms (such as UAVs and helicopters) in both 2D and 3D map displays.
