Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Management

Providing and managing water and wastewater systems are fundamental requirements for government agencies. Intergraph’s water and wastewater infrastructure management solution provides tools to build and maintain digital infrastructure models for water, wastewater, and storm water systems. The solution lets you build and manage infrastructure models, and analyze the working conditions of current infrastructure, as well as plan for infrastructure improvements as demands change.

Key Benefits

  • Operator Productivity - We provide industry specific tools for water and wastewater infrastructure management to increase operator productivity.
  • IT Standards - Our products use Oracle spatial data structures and long-term transaction technology, providing IT standards for data management.
  • Lower Deployment Costs - You can experience lower deployment costs with Intergraph solutions using pre-configured data models and user interfaces.
  • Best-of-class Geospatial Platform - Our open, scalable geospatial platform provides best-of-class capabilities for our government solutions. This includes support for industry standards such as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and Spatial Data Initiatives (SDI).
  • Integration with Popular Mapping Browsers - You can extend your enterprise data and geospatial capabilities with today’s leading map browsers - Google Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth.
  • Image Management - With the demand for imagery data increasing, we provide a scalable enterprise solution for managing and exploiting imagery data across all government solutions.
  • Government Collaboration - The ability to share geospatial data and services enables governments to better cooperate across departments, with other governments, and with businesses.
  • Public Distribution - We provide the ability to distribute government information out to the public to improve e-government services.
  • Legal Compliance - Web-based tools for distributing data and Web services follow OGC and ISO Web standards to ensure legal compliance.

Applications

  • Water & Wastewater Network Maintenance - This application makes it easy for you to build and maintain a digital network model of water, wastewater, and storm water systems. With water and wastewater network maintenance, you can update the geospatial network as job requests are made.
  • Water & Wastewater Network Maintenance - Field - This application provides tools for network maintenance in the field, such as inspecting assets, capturing changes to the digital model, and capturing as-built redlines.
  • Water & Wastewater Hydraulic Analysis - This application provides you with the necessary network information needed for hydraulic analysis of a water or wastewater network. A hydraulic analysis is useful when designing or modifying a water or wastewater network, as well as to provide an understanding of the characteristics of the existing network. The connected network information along with pertinent attributes such as material type and pipe diameter can be extracted from the model and any necessary node reduction can be performed before it is passed to a third-party hydraulic modeling application.
  • Water & Wastewater Emergency Area Isolation - This application provides you with the tools to quickly identify the infrastructure asset in the event of a network break and help determine appropriate repairs. Emergency area isolation requires that the minimum set of flow control devices, such as valves, be quickly determined and geographically located. By tracing the network upstream, downstream, or in both directions, the nearest flow control devices can be determined and geographically displayed.
  • Work Management Interfaces - Integrating job management with geospatial data helps agencies improve efficiency and workflows. With the work management application, interfaces are provided to work management systems. Using this interface, work jobs may include maps, network status/conditions, and other information related to the network model to assist in completing jobs.
  • Asset Management Interfaces - Many local government customers employ asset management systems to maintain inventories of water/wastewater/storm water systems. This interface allows operators to easily see the location of assets and answer geospatial questions.
  • Capital Improvement Planning - With decreasing budgets and growing infrastructure demands, governments need a complete way to plan for capital improvements. Capital improvement planning walks you through the process in a logical manner to produce budget recommendations, and then for reviewing the effectiveness of those spending decisions.
  • Image Management - This Intergraph application uses imagery during network maintenance and field engineering operations to help you understand the location and characteristics of the physical network. If your organization has large volumes of imagery (high resolution, large coverage, multiple time snapshots), Intergraph’s image management application can help you search and retrieve imagery faster and more efficiently.
  • Spatial Data Infrastructure - This application provides the ability for government units to collaborate and distribute information to the public using spatial data infrastructures (SDI). Global ISO and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards for geospatial data and services are embraced. Collaboration can be accomplished from both desktop and Web clients.
