Washington, D.C.’s Office of Unified Communications provides call-taking, dispatching, radio communications, and command-and-control functions from the Unified Communications Center (UCC). The UCC is one of the nation’s premier call centers, encompassing the area’s public safety responders. The UCC uses Intergraph’s CAD and mobile technology, empowering dispatchers with an intelligent map-based interface. The system proved successful by enabling fast response during a record influx of calls associated with the inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama.
