Located in Province in the south of France, Bouches-du-Rhône is one of the 101 departments. The region of 5,100 square kilometers is renowned for its large forest fires. Its topography includes mountains, plains, and flat country, as well as the busy urban area of Marseille. The Bouches-du-Rhône Fire Brigade receives 600,000 emergency calls a year and responds to 115,000 incidents, some of which involve more than 200 vehicles. For optimal response, the agency uses Intergraph CAD, with features such as telephony interfaces, automatic location identification, and messaging.
