Benefits

The Digital Mapping Camera (DMC®) increases the reliability the industry is accustomed to – ensuring high geometric and radiometric resolution. The system delivers images digitally, enabling direct production of a wide range of mapping and image analysis deliverables, including orthophotos, Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), and more.

Our complete acquisition solution seamlessly supports the entire workflow. Throughout the complete workflow – Mission Planning, Flight Management, Image Acquisition, Data Storage, and Post-processing – Intergraph’s data acquisition solution supports the leading large format digital system, and provides you with the accuracy and precision the market demands.

DMC Product Suite

Digital Mapping Camera (DMC®)
The DMC® is the industry’s most innovative turnkey large format digital frame camera system. Intergraph's digital cameras support aerial surveys for a wide range of mapping, geographic information systems (GIS), and remote sensing applications. The camera system use the industry's most precise imaging technologies. The use of solid state disks as airborne data storage increases the DMC's reliability. The system delivers digital images enabling direct production of a wide range of mapping and image analysis products, including orthophotos, digital terrain models (DTMs), and vector maps. This combination of innovative components makes the DMC ideal for capturing data for all mapping applications, including agriculture, cadastral mapping, cartography, forestry, land use/land cover mapping, environmental studies, natural hazard assessment, flood risk management, transportation engineering, urban planning, civil engineering, oil and gas exploration, and geology.
DMC® PPS (Post Processing Software)
DMC® Post Processing Software (PPS) is designed to convert raw DMC image data into airborne images with high geometric precision and perfect radiometric quality. It is a fully automatic program that allows you to process thousands of images unattended overnight. Radiometric and geometric calibration data are applied during the process to produce an image with perfect geometry and radiometry. The customer can select from various image-processing features, such as two different PAN sharpening algorithms and several filters operations. For large projects and high data throughput, parallel distributing processing can be used to increase productivity.
Z/I Inflight
Z/I Inflight streamlines the photo flight operation and introduces a new level of automation for the complete airborne workflow. Z/I Inflight combines the power of a flight management system with selectable sensor control modules for improving efficiency in photo flights. Z/I Inflight allows users to interface with the DMC and RMK TOP film camera as well as other sensors on request. The product supports a variety of peripherals, such as the Z/I Mount, gyro-stabilized camera mount, global positioning system (GPS) receivers, and inertial measurement units (IMU) systems for direct geo-referencing. Z/I Inflight simplifies aircraft installation by integrating several peripheral devices into one ruggedized hardware cabinet with small form factor, while reducing the number of units and cables in the aircraft.
Z/I Mission
Z/I Mission software has the ability to perform either 2D or 3D photo flight mission planning and reporting. From creating initial flight plans to generating reports and indices for the final exposures, Z/I Mission provides a rich data environment that can access any geo-referenced raster backdrop, vector mapping data, and digital orthophotos for flight planning. This mission planning system addresses functions such as flying a particular azimuth, planning the most efficient mission for a region of interest, 3D mission planning, and more. Z/I Mission facilitates such basic functions as project viewing, data import or export, definition of coordinate systems, display layout definition through legend manipulation, explorer functionality and catalogue handling.
Z/I Mount
Z/I Mount is a gyro-stabilized camera mount that compensates for angular aircraft movements during photo flights. The quality of an aerial photo depends largely on weather conditions during flight time. Z/I Mount from Intergraph empowers you to take highly accurate images even in challenging flight conditions. The gyro-stabilized digital mount compensates for the roll, pitch, and yaw of the aircraft. You can use it with Intergraph’s DMC, the RMK TOP film camera, and several other sensors, including small-format digital cameras or light detection and ranging (LIDAR) systems. It has an integrated digital interface for external control.
Copy Station
Intergraph offers the perfect solution for field data copy of raw Digital Mapping Camera (DMC®) or RMK D Medium-format digital camera image data, from airborne storage to removable media. You can choose from two different products – Flight Data Storage Copy Station and Solid State Disks Readout Station – optimized for flight data storage (FDS) and solid state disks (SSD) DMC and RMK D configurations. This data copy functionality is an essential part of the digital camera workflow. Our solution allows you to select a variety of different media, ranging from removable disk drives and external drives to the latest tape technology.
RMK D Camera
The RMK D is a medium format aerial imaging system designed to meet the high-accuracy/high-resolution requirements of engineering mapping and remote sensing tasks. With a much lower price point when compared to large-format cameras, more organizations will be able to take advantage of the most advanced imaging technology available.
RMK D PPS (Post Processing Software)
RMK D Post Processing Software (PPS) is designed to convert raw RMK D image data into airborne images with high geometric precision and perfect radiometric quality. It is a fully automatic program which allows you to process thousands of images unattended overnight. Radiometric and geometric calibration data are applied during the process to produce an image with perfect geometry and radiometry. For large projects, parallel distributed processing can be used to increase throughput.
